چکیده

Assemblages of cryptospores were reported and detailed for the first time from Upper Ordovician Brazil. These assemblages recovered diamictites shales with dropstones Iapó Formation, Rio Ivaí Group, Paraná Basin. The analyzed sequence represents Hirnantian glacial deposits containing well-preserved palynomorphs low thermal maturity total organic carbon. cryptospore comprise monads, dyads, permanent tetrads, polyads, naked or enclosed in an envelope, totalizing 17 species. associated marine consist 12 species acritarchs prasinophycean algae which are not discussed detail herein. It is noticied occurrence Tortotubus protuberans abundant black fragments at lowermost portion diamictites. Late cosmopolitan corroborate early radiation land plants western Gondwana. results contribute to a better knowledge Brazil more generally South America. • Evidence environment Palynomorphs Hirnantian, Basin, assemblage comprises oldest evidence
